As a teen, I found a well-used copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Childs. With a friend, we baked seven loaves of bread in one day. The quality was not great but we were amazed by the alchemy of baking. I was hooked! While I loved baking then, other interests became my professional life for the next 35 years. In retirement from my ‘real work’, I finally had the time to devote to my passion for baking.

I have lived in the Viroqua area for over three decades. Several years ago, I began keeping bees, and harvesting honey. Around that time, my grand-daughter and I began baking out of my home, using the honey from my hives. We worked hard making beautiful things…just like the bees! We became so busy, I decided to move into Viroqua and make business of this hobby. Beehive Bakery was born.

I am excited to provide a variety of products from hearty rye breads to delicate pastries, desserts for special occasions, and small catering events featuring baked goods.

Orders are placed online, Sunday through Wednesday evening. Items are baked and ready for pick-up on Saturday from 11am to 5pm.

I look forward to providing delicious baked goods to our community.
